Guwahati -Kaziranga - Meghalaya

Itinerary :

Assam, and Meghalaya also are best to visit from November to May. The weather is perfect, with cool winds blowing from the Himalayan foothills to reduce heat and humidity. Orchids bloom between March and May.

 

Day 1 : Journey begins 
Train journey starts from Howrah Railway station, overnight train journey.

Day 2 : Guwahati to Kaziranga
Arrival at Guwahati. Assam is best visited from November to May. The weather is perfect, with cool winds blowing from the Himalayan foothills to reduce heat and humidity. Transfer to Kaziranga National forest, World Heritage site Kaziranga is famous for Worlds largest Rhino Population. Check in the hotel/homestay. enjoy the jungle safari in the afternoon. Enjoy campfire in the evening. Nightstay in Kaziranga.

Day 3: Guwahati
In the morning after breakfast check out of the hotel and proceed for Guwahati. After freshen up visit local sightseeing covering Kamakhya temple, Umananda temple, Sukhuleswar Temple, Ropeway. Visit Balaji Temple in the evening. Night stay in Guwahati.

Day 4 : Shillong
In the morning after breakfast check out of the hotel and visit local sightseeing covering Assam Museum, Basistha Ashram, Sankardev Kalakshetra and then proceed for Shillong. On the way see Barapani Lake. On arrival at hotel check in the hotel. Visit Wards Lake in the Evening. Night Stay in shillong.

Day 5 : Mawlynnong 
Hotel Check-out from the hotel and proceed to visit Dawki. Dawki is a town in West Jaintia Hills district, Meghalaya, India. Border town between India & Bangladesh. From Dawki proceed to Asia’s cleanest village Mwlynnong. It is also referred as 'Gods Own Garden'. From here proceed to witness 'Living Root Bridge' Living root bridges are a form of tree shaping common handmade from the aerial roots of Rubber Trees. On the way back from Dawki to shillong visit Elephant Falls. Evening in leisure. Night Stay in shillong.

Day 6 : Cherapunjee 
In the morning check out of the hotel and proceed for full day sightseeing at Cherapunjee, world’s wettest place. Visit Nohkalikai water falls its height is 1115 feet, making it as the highest waterfall in India. Mawsmai Cave, Dain Thalen Falls, Eco Park etc. Enjoy the scenic beauty of Cherrapunjee. get back to the hotel, evening in leisure. Night Stay in Shillong.

Day 7 : Guwahati 
In morning visit local sightseeing covering Laitlum Canyons, Shillong view point, Don Bosco Museum, Air Force Museum, Lady Hydari Park, Shillong View Point (Laitkor Peak), Elephant Falls, Umium Lake. After lunch check out of the hotel and proceed for Guwahati, on arrival check in the hotel, evening in leisure, night stay in Guwahati.

Day 8 : Return journey 
In morning check out from the Hotel and proceed for onward return journey by train from Guwahati Railway station with happy memories.

Day 9 : Arrival at Kolkata, tour concludes.

Transportation : Train ticket in sleeper class & and sightseeing and sight to sight transfer in Sedan car/Traveller/bus.
